Smarter Matching: Core vs. Auxiliary Processes
One of the biggest challenges in digital sourcing is finding the manufacturer who truly fits - not just one who loosely qualifies.
With the new "Core vs. Auxiliary" logic, Partfox now clearly distinguishes between primary manufacturing processes (such as Milling or Turning) and complementary services (such as surface treatments). The result: buyers see the most relevant manufacturers first. Manufacturers who maintain a complete profile are found precisely where their core competency lies.
This distinction works in both directions: it makes search results more relevant and ensures that capacity is no longer overlooked due to inaccurate machine coverage. The new rule is simple: if a machine can handle a part - even by rotating it 90 degrees - it will be considered in the matching.
Targeted Improvements: Less Friction, More Control
Alongside the structural improvements, the March update also brings targeted technical optimisations that make everyday use noticeably smoother:
- Clean ZIP downloads: The "Download all as ZIP" feature now correctly excludes deleted files - for clean, professional technical packages.
- More resilient quote processing: Missing dates in a quote will no longer cause an upload to fail. Your workflow keeps moving.
